If you’re a fan of any sort of dark post punk music, then Gundogs from Leeds are definitely a band to check out. Their new single “Tokyo” is impressively dark – a palpitating drum machine, heavily distorted guitar and with vocals somewhere between Andrew Eldritch on the “Floodland” album and Lux Interior on “Surfin’ Bird”. Gundogs tick all the boxes on the post-punk schema but they do roughen it up with hints of an industrial influence, creating a wall of noise – a sign of great things to come from this fledgling band.
Gundogs’ debut single launch takes place at the legendary Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on the 31st of July. Support comes from FEHM (reviewed by Grave Reviews here), Super Luxury and Moonrats.
